Bathusi Gabanatlhong is an economist and a first year PhD Candidate. Her research focuses on corporate tax avoidance. Through her research she aims to contribute to the ongoing fight against illicit financial flows.
Prior to arriving at Charles University, she worked on economic development issues in the Ministry of Finance for several years.

My research interests lie both in the fields of behavioral economics and political economy. Currently, I am exploring how electronic marketplaces can foster negotiations by easing the emotional distress associated with bargaining. In a joint project with Abad, Bermejo and Carozzi, we also explore how politicians' private incentives affect government's decisions to ask for external financial aid.

I am Postodoctoral Researcher at the University of Kent. I work on an ESRC-funded project, entitled “Business Creation in the UK”.

My PhD discussed the Human Capital Mismatch in the UK using both theoretical and empirical approaches.

My research intrests lie on labour economics, firm creation and applied economics.

I am a Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick. I specialise in Macro-finance. My research focuses on asset price bubbles, macroeconomic policies and financial stability. I designs theoretical models and applies empirical methods to evaluate the effects of bubbles on the economy and provide policy recommendations. I hold a BSc and an MSc in Economics and Management from the University of Caen (2014, 2015), an MRes and PhD in Economics from University of Glasgow (2017, 2022).

Conserving resources and reducing pollution are among the most pressing challenges facing society. Designing programs to achieve these goals requires an understanding of 1) pollution damages and 2) individuals' and firms' compliance behavior.
I investigate these issues using large administrative datasets and experimental and quasi-experimental methods.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick.

Before joining the University of Pavia, I worked as a research economist at the Competence Centre for Microeconomic Evaluation of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy, between 2017 and 2022. My research focuses on applied microeconometrics, with a specific interest in policy evaluation, labour economics, public economics.

Before moving to Bocconi, I worked at the UMichigan's Survey Research Center (Health and Retirement Study), to which I am still affiliated as an adjunct research assistant professor.
