I am a fifth year PhD Candidate in Economics at CREST (ENSAE-Ecole Polytechnique) supervised by Francis Kramarz. My main fields of interest are labor economics, firm dynamics and spatial economics. I study the impact of major education and labor market policies on growth, wages and firm creation. I am also interested in the development of cities and counties, with a specific focus on employment and spatial inequality. I will be on the 2022/23 job market.

I am a postdoctoral researcher in data science at EPFL. I obtained my PhD in economics and finance with specialisation in econometrics at the University of St.Gallen. My research interests lie at the intersection of econometrics and machine learning, focusing on both predictive as well as causal machine learning. I am particularly interested in estimators based on resampling methods. Besides the theory I enjoy the statistical programming of the related algorithms, mainly using R and Python.

Alessia is associate editor of the IJFE and had several research and teaching positions at top institutions including ECB, UPF, UPenn, EUI and Bocconi University, where she got her Ph.D.
