My research interests are monetary policy, macroeconomics, and applied econometrics. Currently, I am also senior research fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), Consultant and Project Director of the University of Illinois at Chicago and Editor of the EconomiA.

In my theory work, I study the use of fiscal policy instruments within the optimal environmental policy. My current work centres on empirical analyses of sustainable demand and the direction of innovation.

Isabella Dobrescu

Isabella's interests are in labour, public finance, health and applied econometrics.She has primarily focused her structural work on topics related to consumption and saving dynamics, as well as studying risk-taking and cognition via nonparametric partial identification methods. More recently, she combines theory, empirical analysis and randomised controlled trials to help design interventions that aim to improve educational outcomes using technology.

I am an applied labor and public economist with broad interests. My current work in labor incorporates insights from behavioral economics and also examines the effects of occupational licensing and monopsony power. I also have work on the importance of worker skills and labor unions.

Sebastian Doerr

Sebastian Doerr is a economist at the Bank for International Settlements in the Monetary and Economic Department and recevied his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Zurich.

At the BIS he is part of the Innovation and the Digital Economy unit, where he works on the regulation of fintechs and cryptocurrencies and examines the consequences of financial innovation for data privacy, credit supply, and competition in the financial sector.

Hello! I work as an assistant professor at the University of Munich since April 2021, where I conduct research in public economics on the design of tax-benefit systems, combining theory and empirics.

I graduated with a PhD in Economics from CREST, Ecole Polytechnique in March 2021 and my PhD dissertation "Essays on the design of tax-benefit systems" received best dissertation awards from the Association Française de Science Economique and from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.

Currently, I am exploring how electronic marketplaces can foster negotiations by easing the emotional distress associated with bargaining. In a joint project with Abad, Bermejo and Carozzi, we also explore how politicians' private incentives affect government's decisions to ask for external financial aid.

My PhD discussed the Human Capital Mismatch in the UK using both theoretical and empirical approaches.

I designs theoretical models and applies empirical methods to evaluate the effects of bubbles on the economy and provide policy recommendations.
